The Goodness of Green

Microgreens meticulously grown with love right here on our Ranch. As we endeavored to learn how to feed our livestock with the very best nourishment around we realized, we should be doing the same for ourselves. Thus began our climb down the rabbit hole of growing microgreens to maximize nutrients and flavor in our diets. As we have discovered all of the benefits of these little delights, we now want to share them with you and your family.

Rich in Nutrients: Microgreens are dense in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. They often contain higher concentrations of these nutrients compared to their mature counterparts. For example, microgreens like kale, radish, and broccoli are known for their high levels of vitamins C, E, and K, as well as beta-carotene.

Antioxidant Properties: Many microgreens, such as sunflower and radish, are rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants help neutralize free radicals in the body, potentially reducing inflammation and lowering the risk of chronic diseases.

High in Fiber: Despite their small size, microgreens are a good source of fiber, which is essential for digestive health, maintaining blood sugar levels, and supporting a healthy weight.

Low in Calories: Microgreens are low-calorie, making them a great addition to meals for anyone looking to manage their weight or reduce their calorie intake while still adding flavor and nutrition to their dishes.

Promote Heart Health: Some microgreens, such as radish and mustard greens, are high in potassium, which can help reduce blood pressure and improve cardiovascular health.

Support Immune Function: Due to their high vitamin C content, microgreens can help boost your immune system, protecting against common colds and infections.

Versatile and Flavorful: Microgreens come in a wide range of flavors, from spicy (like radish) to mild (like basil). They can be used to add flavor, texture, and color to salads, sandwiches, smoothies, and other dishes.

Improved Digestion: Certain types of microgreens, such as alfalfa and pea shoots, can help support digestion and gut health due to their fiber content and other bioactive compounds.

Sustainable: Growing microgreens requires less water, land, and resources compared to traditional farming. This makes them an environmentally friendly food option.
